Task 3

Rindersteak / 378 Kalorien (150g) / 1582.61 kJ / 0.000439614 kWh

Calculation

Definition - Kilowatt

It is the amount of energy that is converted within one hour at a power of one kilowatt.

Comparison

Kilowatt hour is the unit of measurement for energy - In everyday life, this is the unit for electricity and gas.

Example for IDAF

For our example we use the gas of an airplane before shipping. The first step is to put all clothes in the airplane and then we want to calculate the gas for the transport way. The start destination is for example China and the end destination is Switzerland.

sweat money - our project

The idea behind our project is to look for sponsors who are willing to donate a certain sum of money for every 100 calories we will burn in our training sessions over the course of four weeks. We will donate the money we collect to an environmentally friendly organization called "Friends of the Earth International". This way we will be able to link environment, sports and finances.

sweat money - progress

Every project has ups und downs. - Of course, Of course, this also applies to our project!
When we started our project we were full of enthusiasm, but then we realised that it is very hard to find sponsors willing to donate money to a project still in the making. Fortunately, we were given the chance to meet Valeria Vezar, a sports student from Chur,  who has already completely many projects successfully. Her suggestion was to sign in in "I believe in you", a big community that helps sports people to find financial help in order to achieve their dreams, aims or projects. An excellent option - but not for us - unfortunately! At the moment we do not have the time to start such a big project, because we have to study a lot for our exams and we have to train hard. So we talked to her and came to the conclusion that it was better to burn calories and turn them into fictitious money. She and her friend from Brasil, a professional surfer, were  willing to help us in "sweating money". Our team also included several students from our class. This was a perfect mix. Our sports weeks were not rich in events, even though we burnt a lot of calories with our great team!

Correction before publication

Task 15

Our goal is to deliver a unified work. Our work should have a common thread and the posts from our team should be consistent. A correct pronunciation of technical terms and a low error rate is also important to us. Therefore, we have our work corrected by two outsiders who have nothing to do with the project.

Task 16: Reflect & Compare

We learned a lot about our topic „Fast-Fashion“. The survey we thought would be easier to create. It was also not easy to evaluate the results, because we had more young than older participants. The whole thing cost us a lot of time and we thought the project would be easier and quicker to complete. But  overall it was a good experience.
