So far we made the experience of setting way too high goals. First we wanted to stich all the cotton bags ourselves, which is simply not possible. It would require too much time and would be very expensive to buy the cotton.
Also we are not yet sure, how we should bring our products to the families in the countries.
Hi everyone!
We are doing a project about plasticwaste while shopping. It's an everyday topic but many do not realize this. So we want to make humanity aware of what could be changed with only very less effort. We would be very thankful, if you could fill out our survey: https://ee.humanitarianresponse.info/x/CnaYMccC
Thank you very much!
Kind regards
Jasmina Edattukaran und Leara Krone, M19a
Currently we are still in the preparationphase of our project. in the future we will communicate with our collaboration partners via whatsapp and zoom. The main language will be English but if needed Italian will also be used.
Our projectgoal is that people start to shopp plasticfree.
To achieve this, we first need to evaluate how much plastic is currently being purchased and whether people are willing to spend a little more money to buy plasticfree. After that, we will try to sew fabric bags from fabric scraps and send them to our collaboration partners so that they can go shopping with them. Our goal is that even after our project, the people who have participated in our project, read our report, or heard from it choose to shopp with fabric bags etc. and reduce the use of plastic while shopping.
shop judiciously, shop plasticfree

>Product: Evaluation
- Search allternatives, and how we can produce them.
>Product: produce some allternatives (one kid per family)
- All the families should collect their plastic waste over a certain period of time. Afterwards they should use our "shopping kid" over the same period of time.
> Comparison
Diverse, e.g. material needed, difficulties
- online plattform for surveys
- material (fabric, glasses, etc.)
- one difficulty could be, that we have to find some sponsors
- an other dfficulty could be the proper understanding
Goal/Result
We want to answer the following question: How much plastic is wastet for shoppings and how could we avert that?
and we want to show how much unnecesarry plastic we use for our purchases.
Alternatives for plastic packaging
Oilcloth / Wachstuch
Cloth bag / Stoffbeutel
Shopping net / Einkaufsnetz
Glas / Einmachgläser

Do you have other ideas? Habt ihr andere Ideen?
We want to find several families in Kerala and a city in Italy and Switzerland who will collaborate with us and only use the produced packaging products for some time.
The culture won't be a big problem because I grew up with the indian culture aswell as with the swiss culture. I know some people in Mala - a small town in Kerala - so it shouldn't be a big problem to find some collaboration partners.
