Meat production requires too much arable land. No other consumer good in the world requires as much land as the production of meat and dairy products.Two-thirds of it is pasture, one-third is needed to grow feed for the animals, which could be better used to grow crops and grains for direct human consumption. Another big problem is that animals, especially cattle, produce a lot of methane, which has a much stronger greenhouse gas effect than CO2.
So what can we do?
Eat less meat and focus more on organic products. Sustainability is the key!

Brazil - Deforestation

Shortly before the start of the UN Climate Change Conference COP26, Brazil's internationally pressured government has promised measures to preserve the Amazon.
According to Vice President Hamilton Mourão, the Brazilian delegation will announce at the COP that it will end illegal deforestation of the Amazon rainforest by 2027 or 2028. President Jair Bolsonaro had still mentioned 2030 as a target at US President Joe Biden's climate summit in April. "I think a more ambitious target would be very welcome by the international community," Mourão said at a press conference on Monday (local time).

What we eat has a big impact on our environment. So I think it`s ery important to care about our diet. I think we should start by informing ourselves about the food we eat and what impact it has on our environment. Often times there are alternatives that are eco friendly. For example start buying regional meat instead of meat from another continent. Whats also important is to not waste food and only buy as much as you need.
Everyone can do their own part to save the world.

I like to wear make-up. But I also know, that it's usually full of chemicals, or at least for the most part it is.
Now I would like to know how bad it really is for the environment and what make-up brands do to help fight climate change.

In Switzerland most bottles can get recycled if they have the PET label on them and if they're disposed of correctly.
Now a question that I have asked myself is, if recycling plastic bottles is significantly effective in the fight against climate change?
This topic is important to me because I like to drink sweet drinks so I buy plastic bottles a lot...

It is shocking that around 300 000 000 000 trees get cut down every year, only for paper producing purposes. In that case it is important to reduce it.
In terms of the technological advances nowadays it is more and more easy to do excactly that - saving trees. We have electric devices like tablets, smartphones, laptops and so on. It is an investment that for sure but it is something thats worth it for the environment.
In Switzerland about one third of our food does not end up on our plate instead it goes into the bin. With an average waste of 330kg per person and a population of 8’500’000’000 people we are wasting 2’800’000’000kg of food every year.

what can we do about that?
1. Do not shop hungry: It is common knowledge that when you are hungry while grocery shopping you end up with much more food than you actually need.
2. Think befor you buy: Plan your meals that you will eat through out the week and buy exactly what you need for that. Like that you can avoid buying food that you will not use.
3. Store your food properly: If food is stored properly it looks longer good and extends its shelf life. For example vegetables and fruit like a humidity at around 60% therefore store it in the fridge!
In my opinion everyone should try and rethink their way of buying and making use out of their food because it is a problem that affects us all.

Climate Change and Co2:
Addressing climate change through an entire ecosystem Climate change is reaching alarming levels globally due in large part to emissions from burning fossil fuels for transportation and electricity generation. The world cannot reduce CO2 emissions without addressing both energy generation and consumption. And the world cannot address its energy habits without first directly reducing emissions in the transportation and energy sectors.
How are they achieving this mission?
Tesla is designing and manufacturing a complete energy and transportation ecosystem. Tesla seeks to achieve this through our R&D and software development efforts as well as through our continuous drive to develop advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Cars can convey a sense of freedom and movement, not to mention style and status. But they also can have a big impact on the planet.

Cars consume a lot of energy before they ever make it to the open road. Automotive production leaves a giant footprint because materials like steel, rubber, glass, plastics, paints, and many more must be created before a new ride is ready to roll. Similarly, the end of a car’s life doesn’t mark the end of its environmental impact. Plastics, toxic battery acids, and other products may stay in the environment.
The good news;
We need to move away from fossil fuelled cars. Some countries have made major progress on the use of electrified cars. In Norway, 56% of new cars sold in 2019 were electric. Cars are also one of the most recycled products in the world - about 85% of all the materials are reused. Other industries could learn much from this.

The Dodo is a flightless bird that became extinct over 300 years ago. In fact, it is probably the first extinction ever caused by humans.
Since the extinction of animals is a growing topic, I will report on the dodo, the first animal exterminated by us humans.

Thesedays, we don't really look at wether or not our cosmetics are environmentally friendly or if they have been tested on animals. I want to find out if it is possible to produce cosmetics that are environmentally friendly and look up if there are already brands that practice that mindset.
