A) Planned:
Today's goal is to finish our survey on KoBo ToolBox. Before we can finally upload it, we have to get it approved by our teacher. Therefore we are going to send the link of the survey to our teacher.
We are both working primarily on the survey. Besides that someone will possibly work one the text draft.
Regarding collaboration: We are kind of stuck with our relatives at the moment, they're not very collaborative sadly. We are still waiting for our relatives to send us photo material, despite reminding them several times. It's a little bit frustrating.
Project bubbles before:
- Survey (7/10)
- C-project tasks (6/10 - there are even more tasks, which means we'll have to do some homework, as well as to make sure to post the tasks, which are saved on our personal devices at home, on the horse soon)
- Media-material collection (0/10 - we still haven't received anything)
- Add/post everything on the horse (?/10 - we're going to check this out after we post all of the tasks mentioned above)
B) Achieved:
The survey draft on KoBo ToolBox is ready. We have to get the content of it approved after holidays. We worked on our text drafts a bit.
Project bubbles after:
- Survey (9/10)
- C-project tasks (6/10 - we didn't work on this today)
- Media-material collection (0/10 - we still haven't received anything)
- Add/post everything on the horse (?/10 - we didn't work on this today)
State of the art:
On a scale from 1-10 we're on a 5 at the moment. So far we've had one meeting (Liranda with her relatives and Angela with hers) with our collaboration partners, where we explained what our project is about to them. We informed them that we're currently working on a survey, which we will send to them in due course and also that we are in need of some footage of their plastic waste that they create during one day. We also did a good amount of research already, so we can start writing our texts soon. All in all, it is clear now who has to do what.
Challenges:
As expected, our relatives asked us to translate the survey in their mother tongue, which is kind of stressful for us since our skills in the languages concerned aren't perfect. But most unfortunate is the fact that our relatives aren't as collaborative as we've expected them to be. As mentioned above, we've asked them to send us pictures. Up until now they haven't sent us any, despite several reminders. We figured that they might not be very interested in the topic of our project.
Chances:
Even if we're not in the best situation with our collaboration partners right now, we'll take this as a chance to work on our responsibility. From this, we can conclude that, you shouldn't give up even if things are not going according to plan. It is important to be as flexible as possible, in order to make the project work somehow.
A) Planned:
Today's goal is to work on our survey and to make progress as far as possible. Maybe even start translating the provisional survey questions and answers. But also hopefully starting to draft our texts.
Angela is going to work on the survey. Liranda will continue our research and start drafting the text.
Regarding collaboration: We are still waiting for our relatives to send us photo material.
Project bubbles before:
- Survey (5/10 - still deciding on which questions and answer-options)
- C-project tasks (7/10 - tasks are actually done, but most of them are written down in Word-documents, saved on our own devices at home)
- Media-material collection (0/10 - haven't received any so far)
- Add/post everything on the horse (?/10 - we're not sure about this one)
B) Achieved:
The survey is not fully ready yet. We are also aware of the fact that we have to get the content of it approved in the near future. Gladly, Liranda could make some progress with our text drafts.
Project bubbles after:
- Survey (7/10)
- C-project tasks (6/10 - there are even more tasks, which means we'll have to do some homework, as well as to make sure to post the tasks mentioned above on the horse soon)
- Media-material collection (0/10 - we still haven't received anything)
- Add/post everything on the horse (?/10 - we're going to check this out after we post all of the tasks mentioned above)
We will post the link of the video we made soon.
We're currently working on our survey and we need a teacher to approve the content of it.
Last week, we both talked our our relatives, on separate days, where we explained what our project is about to them. We informed them that we're currently working on a survey, which we will send to them in due course and also that we are in need of some footage (media material) of their plastic waste that they create during one day. We really hope that we'll get some good footage from them because they don't really come off as collaborative nor as very interested in our project, unfortunately.
The research we were doing by the way is still going on and we need to start drafting up the text for our post.
Our previous posts, where we defined our questions, ideas and goals, are the base of our project and therefore we are going to build on these.
The best option for us is to create a survey. Through surveys you can reach way more people to share their experience with us than through interviews, where in most cases only a few people are interviewed. Surveys are quick, easy and accessible to anyone, even internationally if it is circulating properly.
We are currently working on our survey, all questions we want to include in it are written down now. But there is a challenge coming up for us: Our relatives, who are part of our project, do not speak german nor english, so we have to translate it to croatian and albanian, so they can answer them accurately.
We really hope that our upcoming survey is going to give us a collection of new impressions and insights to our project topic.
We are planning on meeting our collaboration partners via WhatsApp-call sometime next week. Sadly it is not possible for us to do a group-call because our collaboration partners (aka relatives) don't speak the same language, so they aren't able to exchange their experiences revolving around plastic waste in the country they live in among eachother. It surely would have been interesting, but always having to translate what each party says, is too demanding and would probably end up in a chaos. The consequence from this for us both, Liranda and Angela, is that we have to contact/call them separately. But thanks to that, it shouldn't be too hard for us to fix an appointment.
For now, we've decided on meeting them once. It is not necessary to contact them weekly, but maybe monthly. We'll just decide spontaneously, depending on how the situation is.
Vision:
We want to spread awareness on the topic of plastic pollution – basically how it affects our environment on the whole. With the aid of surveys and the collaboration with people in different countries, we should be able to make interesting comparisons and exchange experiences together. Therefore, our main goal is to encourage people to reduce their own plastic waste. And we can hopefully convince many people to do so with our project.
Imagination:
We hope that our project about reducing plastic even reaches international people and of as many as possible of course. Not only do we want to raise awareness to the consequences of plastic pollution/waste, we also wish to leave some type of impact on improving plastic waste all over the world. Furthermore we want to discover ways to reduce plastic waste long-term and share it with other people.

We created a post on the mural and we'd love for the people who are interested in our project to contribute to it: https://app.mural.co
Thank you!
