Title: Women in Tech
[Header Picture] <- I am not sure what to use yet
Introduction:
I wasn't interested in computer science during my education until I started an apprenticeship in a computer science company. It was only during my apprenticeship that I learned that I had a completely wrong image of computer science and that computer science can be so comprehensive and exciting.
During the project work in technology and the environment, I immediately became interested in the topic of computer science, especially women in computer science. During my apprenticeship, I noticed how few women I met, who actually work in that field. My goal with this work is to generate more interest for careers in computer science / tech and break through certain stereotypes.
My family is not new to computer science - many work in computer science professions (my father, 3 of my aunts). Since my father told me a lot of exciting stories about my aunt Eileen, who travels the world as a digital nomad, I immediately decided to interview her and other IT professionals in my family.
On the side, I did my own research by learning about the early female programmers and have conduct a survey to raise awareness of gender specific interest in computer science.
