We heat with different radiators on the one hand we have a photovoltaic system (solar panels) on our roof, on the other hand we have installed two years ago a geothermal probe which was dug into the ground. In addition, we use our fireplace from time to time in the winter, which also provides heat, but honestly is used more for aesthetic reasons.
Photovoltaic system
Short definition:
A photovoltaic system, also PV system or solar power system, is an electric power system designed to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics. It consists of an arrangement of several components, including solar panels to absorb and convert sunlight into electricity.

Geothermal probe / deutsch = Erdsonde
Short definition:
A geothermal probe is a geothermal heat exchanger in which a heat transfer fluid circulates. In contrast to the horizontally laid geothermal heat collector, the pipe system is inserted into a vertically or obliquely running borehole. With the geothermal probe, heat is extracted from or supplied to the ground.

--> We started drilling in our garden about two years ago (picture). The company "Heim" has installed it, so we have a sustainable heating resource.

Fireplace:
Usually we are useing burning firewood to heat our living room in the winter. However, we use this rather rarely, because as already mentioned, it is more used aesthetic wise.
