Interview No1 - with aunt Eileen (the tech savy digital nomad).
I had to cut it into three parts because the file was too big for the horse.
Part 1 - Interview_Eileen_Part_01.mp3 (14,30 mb)
Part 2 - Interview_Eileen_Part_02.mp3 (10,45 mb)

I was looking for an easy way out for writing down the answers from my interviews (audio based) and came across the application called "Otter". You can either record something directly or upload your own audio. Check it out if you need to "convert" audio to text - I recommend it.

Today I focused on cutting the audio from the interviews and oh boy! I have more than 1h worth of audio to cut through.
Since I am already aquainted with the audio cutting tool, it is not that much hard work. But listening to my own voice defenitley sucks. I am working with the tool "audacity" - I recommend it to anyone that wants to edit/cut audios.

Title: Women in Tech
[Header Picture] <- I am not sure what to use yet
Introduction:
I wasn't interested in computer science during my education until I started an apprenticeship in a computer science company. It was only during my apprenticeship that I learned that I had a completely wrong image of computer science and that computer science can be so comprehensive and exciting.
During the project work in technology and the environment, I immediately became interested in the topic of computer science, especially women in computer science. During my apprenticeship, I noticed how few women I met, who actually work in that field. My goal with this work is to generate more interest for careers in computer science / tech and break through certain stereotypes.
My family is not new to computer science - many work in computer science professions (my father, 3 of my aunts). Since my father told me a lot of exciting stories about my aunt Eileen, who travels the world as a digital nomad, I immediately decided to interview her and other IT professionals in my family.
On the side, I did my own research by learning about the early female programmers and have conduct a survey to raise awareness of gender specific interest in computer science.

Last week on Saturday I was able to interview another one of my aunts and got some really good answers (as well as really sweet career advice). This was the aunt who has more than 3 degrees (one of them being a doctor title). We discussed dropping out of school and how it is never to late to achieve something in life.

Today I managed to record the introduction for my podcast! Podcast on Anchor
I started writing "template" for my post on dontwastemyenergy, but it still needs some revision.
Tomorrow I will interview another one of my aunts - I think that I will also ask someone from the old company I worked at.

Today I interviewed two of my aunts - sadly I lost one of the audio files, which leaves me with only one interview. Thankfully I have the audio file for the most important interview with my tech savy aunt who travels the world as a digital nomad. I will start working on cutting the audio next week.
I will have another interview with another one of my aunts probably next week. I am so glad that I found the courage to ask them for interviews - their stories are so interesting!

Highlight: The interviews are sceduled for tomorrow already!
Achievements of today:
- I finally had enough courage to send out the interview invitations
- Had a first look at the answers of my survey
Plans for next week:
- Record a project introduction for my podcast (first episode)
Podcast: Women in tech
I have set up a podcast portal to showcase my final project (also for my american family to see).
Since I am already familiar with the Site Anchor, this should be fairly easy.
These are the questions I want during the interview:
General questions:
1. Do you remember how it used to be to work with computers years ago?
2. What do you think has changed compared to today?
3. In terms of gender equality, how important is it that more women
enter male-dominated professions, specifically tech?
4. What do you think, how can we get more women and
girls interested in computers?
5. Regarding equality in male-dominated professions -
if you had the power to change something immediately what would it be?
