We are the proud trio Platanus x hispanica
Since 1973 this place at Steinfelsplatz has been our habitat; we reach over 27 meters in height.
We are offspring of a cross (Kreuzung) between Orient (x) Occident, are hardy (robust, tough) and tolerate the summer heat well.
At Hardsrasse, we are the only three successors (Nachfolger) of an avenue of 80 trees over 100 years ago.
More than 9,000,000 cars roll past us day in and day out every year - one every 3 seconds.
QUESTION:
How much air pollutants, e.g. NOx (NitrogenDioxide), do we filter out of the air per year?
Answer: 3.4 kg - this corresponds to a trip with a diesel car to Lisbon and from there to the center of the earth (8255 km).
