Task 5 - vision & imagination step (befter)

I think that our project is a bit too small to get such a big reach. However, I think our train of thought is in the right direction. However, if we put the project on an international basis, we could take various things from the different countries. Because depending on the climate or other conditions, different building materials are needed as well as the number.
However, I ask myself the question of whether this can be achieved at all. Because the people like for example we Swiss are already accustomed to such a high standard of living.

However, I think that you roll up the whole issue in any case on an international basis. Because once the interest of the people has been awakened can be started with the whole.

I very much hope that in the future a little more attention is paid to the Bauwese, because as long as there are people will also be built new buildings. Even industries can cut off a thick slice here.

I am curious what the future brings us ...

Interview with Diethelm Travel about sustainable travel / THAILAND

Lia did her apprenticeship in a travel agency, so she already had some contacts from her apprenticeship. Among others, she knows Kallaya Chaiyapornpattana. Kallaya is a young woman who lives in Bangkok and she is also a Thai woman. Her position in the travel agency is Manager-German & French Speaking Market.

1. How will tourism change sustainably in the coming years?

Before the pandemic the world and meaning of sustainability has become more and more common...The idea of building a new tourism structure where we will assume our responsibility and provide services according to it has become a priority nowadays. While moving to a full sustainability tourism will take long time , I truly believe that the Pandemic will accelerate the process in order to focus on 2 areas : Giving Back to the communities where we do send tourists to assure there is a sustainable tourism (CRM) from a to z , and actions in order to minimize the nature/animal fare impact.

2. Is the demand for sustainable travel for example overland transfers, sustainable hotels there?

At the moment we are starting to see that the requests are increasing from the TTOO side , in order to have the options of accommodations that follow sustainable action , in order to be promoted ( excellent example is ZEAVOLA Hotel in Phi Phi Island). At the same time some TTOO that do have series , are starting to add some CRM activities to add a solid value to the programs , and as a result supporting local communities. At the moment are personal actions as per vehicles sides as are harder to control (Emission of CO2).

3. Had Covid19 an impact on sustainability in Thailand?

As mentioned before perhaps has accelerated the actions by TTOO, and put more pressure on DMCs that were not following the sustainability leads

4. Are the costs for sustainable hotels massively horrendous compared to normal hotels?

At the moment there are not so many data to be compared , as most of the sustainable properties are 5* , and 4* Plus , and in terms of rates it  is depending on the property : SONEVA KIRI ( one of the most expensive hotels in Thailand) , Zeavola ( the most expensive hotel in Phi Phi Island) , but there are also not that expensive hotels , so it does depend on the properties .

5. What are the target groups for sustainable tourism (rather families, individual travellers ect...)?

Sustainable tourism aim to cover all targets in tourism as it will be a new way of traveling . The change is coming from the mentality of the travelers , and it will take time but will target all travelers

We sincerely thank Kallaya for taking the time to answer the questions in detail despite the Covid pandemic. :-)

Vision & Imagination / Women who code

In the main focus we will look at how many women actually program and talk about the increasing number of women who are starting to program in emerging countries. Maybe there are more women than expected, there just aren't enough people talking about it yet. I will be able to reach others with the project and motivate one or the other person to be interested in a technical profession.

In the distant future, I imagine that more women will program and that the distinction between "women's job" and "men's job" no longer exist, maybe it won't be important at all wether you are male or female (or anything in between). Young adults are increasingly encouraged to do what makes them happy. Outdated gender concepts will not even be passed onto children in the future.

Imagination and Vision

Imagine the wold without fast fashion...

Isn't it interesting to understand how fast fashion works? When did people start to care about this?

I believe that fast fashion consumers are mostly youngsters who follow trends. Trends which are made from celebrities. Without those celebrities fast fashion couldn't exist.

C-Project Task 5 - vision and imagination

My Vision:

I think that the whole corona thing could stick with us for another while.
Because of that I think it is really important to konw as much as we can about the whole virus and how it affects our world in detail.
Thats why I want to accieve with our project to give an idea how the situations are in other countries.

My Imagination:

I can imagne that the situation in Cuba is much worse than in Switzerland. In addition to this i think that the measures are more strickt as well because Switzerland is pretty leasure on that one. Finally, I think that Jasmine will tell us that the circumstances in Cuba that she is living in rigth now are far away from ours. One of the reasons could be the fact that the food provition was already bad beforehand.

C-Project Task 5 - Vision and Imagination

This mass consumption is not without "side effects". In this project, I would like to explain the effects of meat consumption. Since meat consumption has a big impact on our environment. The aim is to show that if we stop consuming meat, our environment will improve. The factors of meat production and consumption have a strong influence on this. Which factors play a role in this?

We want to increase the appreciation of meat as a food again. Ultimately, this also raises the question: how much and what kind of meat needs to be produced? We always talk about the quantity consumed, but let's also talk about the added value. If the consumer wants a piece of meat from an animal that has been kept in an animal-friendly manner, that eats domestic feed and is kept in such a way that it remains healthy with as little medication as possible, then that has its price. Appreciation then means that the consumer is willing to pay for this careful and sustainable treatment. If the industry can realise this price, it will also be able to cope if the population does not eat meat every day.

Vision and imagination Task 5 Andrei & Fabio

What I expect with this project?

I want to know, how much airplanes pollute the air?

Everyone knows, that airplanes aren't really ecofriendly. Are there any typ of planes, that are better than the others. Is it better to fly with one big plane or with two smaller?

I want to research, if its possible to fly without kerosin. Maybe are their any other options: eg. electricity

Survey: Would you also fly, if it would be expensiver than now?

C-Project Task 5: Vision & Imagination

This project will be based mostly on documentaries that can be found on Youtube. I already know that there will be no final answer to the question of what the world would look like without us humans. After all, we speculate a lot and how it would actually look, it will only be known if it comes so far that no humans are left in the world.
However, in the context of this project, the individual processes, how the world would look like without us, will be described in more detail. That means, the project will show how it would look like in the first days, in the first weeks and in the first years.

With a planned survey the young people as well as to the old ones are supposed to think about what a big influence we humans have in fact, which animals have already died due to us and whether the future brings something good with it. This evaluation will be a part of this project.

Vision & Imagination

What outcome do we expect from this project?

At the end of this project we want to have more opinions and ideas from other people on how planes could travel more eco-friendly.

e.g. use less kerosine, make it electric, etc.

Vision and Imagnination

My vision of our project is that I know more about the corona situation in Cuba. I want to know how it is to live in Cuba while Corona. What can they do, what measures do they have, what do they think of the measures and so on.

My imagination of our project is that in Cuba the situation is much harder then in switzerland. I can imagine that the government of Cuba do more strict measures than the government of switzerland. But I think not only the measures are harder than in switzerland. Also the living situation is much harder. To get food, to get necessary things for live, to meet friends, to go out and so on.

Vision and imagination - Sustainable tourism

Vision
I think in the future it would be bad to travel if we don't take enough care to our environment. If we don't take action now, our future doesn't look really bright when you believe in the statistics which were made by scientists. But everybody wants a future where the children can grow up safely. We have to start now because it's too late if we start in 10 years.

Imagination
My imagination is, that there is a world where you can travel sustainable and don't use plastic anymore which is extremly bad for the environment. The aim in the near future is, that plastic waste will be reduced to a minimum so that we don't see so much waste in the nature.
